CANDIED SWEET POTATOES

6 medium sweet potatoes

1 c. light corn syrup

1/2 c. sugar

1/2 t. salt

4 T. oleo

Partially cook potatoes in boiling water.  Cool and peel.  Cut lengthwise and place in a greased pan large enough for one layer.  Make a syrup by boiling corn syrup, sugar, salt and butter until fairly thick.  Pour syrup over potatoes and bake in a very moderate for over 1 hour.  Turn potatoes carefully as they cooking.  This keeps them from drying out.
