DUMPLINGS

1 1/3 c. sifted flour (all purpose)

1 t. salt

2 t. baking powder

1 egg

1/2 c. milk (sweet)

Sift flour with baking powder and salt.  Beat egg and add milk.  Combine mixtures.  Drop dumpling batter from spoon over the meat.  Cook uncovered for 5 minutes.  Cover and steam for 5 minutes.  Remove dumplings to a hot platter.  Stir three tablespoons of flour blended with 1/3 cup water into the liquid.  Cook until thick.  (Serves 6)
