HOMEMADE YEAST ROLLS

1/2 t. salt

1/2 c. shortening

1/2 c. sugar

1 t. baking powder

2 c. milk

1 pkg. yeast flour

Heat milk, salt, shortening to boiling point.  Let cool to lukewarm.  Put in one package yeast, 1 t. baking powder and sugar.  Pour in a little flour and work in.  Keep adding flour until you have a soft dough (not sticky).  Put dough in a large bowl and cover with a damp cloth.  Put in a warm place.  When dough is doubled in size, punch down and refrigerate.  When ready to make rolls, butter your hands and put three dough balls per greased muffin tin.  Let rise and bake at 375 or 400 degrees until lightly browned.
